The first day of spring was just a few days ago, which means spring break, Memorial Day, and SUMMER VACATIONS. If you’ve read my posts before, you know that I love summer and everything that comes along with it. I am already dreaming of weekend trips to San Diego and Santa Barbara so I can lounge by the ocean all day long. Summer is the season of traveling and exploring and I can’t wait to be a part of it.
Most of us try and go on a getaway or two during these next few months, and I hope a few of you are already looking forward to planned vacations. Whether it’s a quick weekend escape or a trip across the globe, there are definitely some essentials you need to bring with you wherever you go. These five things will save you during any vacation, and create the ease you need to enjoy your trip(s) all summer long.
1. A Good Pair of Heels
One thing I am sure of to bring on a vacation is a good pair of heels, specifically a pair that I can stand walking in all night. Finding a pair of versatile and comfortable heels can become a lifesaver on a vacation since you can wear them with multiple outfits, ultimately saving you suitcase space. Plus, getting a good-quality pair of shoes will save you from those awful aches in your feet when you are needing to be a bit more dressed up.
2. A Light Jacket
Even when traveling to the hottest climates, it’s always good to bring a lightweight jacket. My denim jacket is typically my go-to as it is easy to throw on with most outfits if it gets a little cold. And if it warms up, I can quickly tie it around my waist and still look cute. You never know when a perfect day could turn out a bit chilly, and it’s always better to be prepared!
3. A Day-To-Night Dress
I think this is one of the most important things you can bring on a vacation. When I pack for trips, I am always sure to bring dresses that I can wear comfortably all day that can easily be dressed up for the night if needed. A lot of times a vacation schedule can get messed up and you don’t have time to completely get ready for evening events. A dress is so simple to dress up by switching out your shoes, accessories, and maybe even throw on that lightweight jacket your brought along.
4. A Crossbody Bag
If you don’t have a good cross body bag, it is time to invest. This is the ultimate bag to bring with you on vacation as it is so easy to bring on long days out, has room for all of your essentials, but is still small enough if you end up in a crowded place or maybe even dancing the night away. Typically when I travel, specifically flying, I bring a large tote bag as my “personal bag” and slip my cross body inside. That way I am able to bring along my iPad, book, and anything else I need, but also have my cross body for easy access.
5. Statement Sunglasses
I don’t know about you, but I love what sunglasses add to an outfit. Not only that, but it is very likely you will be doing tours, laying on the beach, sight-seeing, and many other outdoor activities while traveling where you will need a good pair of sunnies. I personally bring a couple pairs to spruce up my vacation looks, but having one good pair of sunglasses to wear during the day will make your trip much more enjoyable.
