5 Fashion Trends For Summer 2018

It’s the greatest time of the year! Honestly though, summer is my absolute favorite. I love being outside in the sunshine, pool days & BBQs, and adventuring off to beachy locations. Not to mention all of the great things LA has to offer in the summer like the Santa Monica Pier concerts, outdoor movies and endless outdoor brunch options.

There is nothing I love more than shopping for summer clothes. I love the simplicity of summer with it’s minimal layers; the only way you dress up an outfit is with really great accessories. I always feel like I’m suffocating when I wear layered clothing during the colder months, so summer makes me so much happier and more comfortable. I’ve already done more summer shopping than I should have due to my busy travel schedule last month and I’ve noticed great trends that I wanted to share with you all so you can be looking your best this summer!

White On White

While everyone loves a good black on black outfit, with summer here I have seen a ton of people wearing white on white. I have noticed that when I’m shopping I find myself more drawn to white clothing than ever before. There’s something about sun-kissed skin against an all-white outfit that really makes your tan pop. White is definitely the color of summer 2018 and I am personally loving it.

Hats, Hats, Hats

I’ve always been a fan of hats, but I’ve been seeing them on more and more influencers and celebrities this summer. Whether it’s a wide-brimmed fedora or a cabby hat like I’m wearing in this outfit, hats are taking over the summer trends. I love bringing a hat along with me to the pool or beach. Not only does it keep my face protected from the sun (no wrinkles, please), but it also keeps me looking cute even after my hair gets wet.

Slide-On Sandals

Slide-on sandals made a big appearance last summer and they are not going anywhere for 2018. They are cute and super easy to throw on in a moments notice. I love how comfortable they are. Plus, they’re super easy to get on and off at the beach. I hate being that girl everyone has to wait on to put her shoes on.

Off The Shoulder Bikinis

One-pieces and high waist bikinis are taking over but another one of my favorites are off-the-shoulder bikinis. I love the look of an OTS bikini top because it’s something more unique than a typical triangle or bandeau top. I have a couple and just take the sleeves off if I am tanning, but ultimately love the look of the shoulder sleeves.

Statement Sunglasses

From teeny tiny frames to bold cat-eyes, unique sunglasses are everywhere this summer. I think that sunglasses can really tie a look together and love the idea of adding fun frames to an outfit. I have yet to find a good pair of small frames that don’t look ridiculous on me, but think they look so bold and fun on other girls. Till then, I will be sporting translucent and oversized aviators and colorful cat-eyes.
